Inspiring Leaders PodcastTM
Never Stop Growing!
What is Transformational Leadership? On this episode, we find out with Krishna Kumar, President of the International Association of Coaching (IAC).
“Most of us dream of being in a better place but most great leaders have got to where they are by applying leverage” A pioneer in the sphere of Leadership and Executive Coaching in India, Krishna Kumar holds the firm belief that coaching is enlightening, transformational, at times magical, almost always healing and possessing the power to build a healthier and harmonious society. It is a belief that has carried him through a diverse and continuing learning journey over three decades where he has donned the hats of a senior corporate executive, an entrepreneur, a master tennis coaching professional, a B-school professor, independent Board member and as a Leadership and Executive Coach. “If you are able to transform an individual and take them to what they perceives as a better place, then you are a good coach”

Startup Businesses need help. Only 35% of new businesses will be around after 5 years. Thank goodness for the Guest we interview here.
“The failure rate for StartUp Canada Members is half the national average and 8% of our Members are high-growth vs 4% generally” Victoria Lennox is the co-founder and CEO of Startup Canada, the national rallying community supporting and giving a voice to Canada’s 2.3 million entrepreneurs. She has been recognized by the United Nations Development Program and the European Union as one of the foremost experts in entrepreneurship education. “I want Startup Canada to be a household name so we can help people and create a nation of entrepreneurs.” This week we learn how to Do The Impossible with Extreme Athlete, Ray Zahab.
“You define yourself by what you do” Ray Zahab is an extreme runner and motivational speaker. He has been active in extreme running adventures in several countries around the world, including challenges that most people would consider impossible. But it wasn’t always that way. As a young adult Ray was smoking a pack of cigarettes per day, living a sedentary life and was basically unhappy. What motivated him to get off the couch and start training by tying a car tire around his waist for resistance while running uphills? What inspired Ray to become a leader in perspectives about what is physically possible? The answer will shock you! “When things aren’t going well, resilience is your ability to stick to it, not give up and see that light at the end of the tunnel. Things WILL get better.” In these times of divisive politics and unapologetic incivility by public figures, we’re proud to discuss Commonalities with Thought Leader Sheema Khan on this week’s INSPIRING LEADERS Podcast.
“Rather than running on auto pilot and delegating critical thinking to others, it starts with the Leaders to take the time, to evaluate, think for themselves and use their intuition.” Do you believe the “Official Story” that you are told? Or do you focus on the facts and make up your own mind? As leaders, the former can lead to divisiveness and disaster and the latter can bring inclusion and innovation. “I’m inspired by leaders who fearlessly speak truth to power.” “Being Mindful in Conflict”. It is one of the most fundamental aspects of skillful leadership. This week we explore this topic with Life Coach Jim Mondry. “Inspired Leadership means setting a Vision for what could be in such a way that the people you are leading can understand how they can uniquely contribute to it and participate along with you.” Many managers are overwhelmed with the million different things demanding their attention, from over-seeing tasks, supporting employees, responding to customers and answering to senior leaders. In this interview, Jim dives deep into the interpersonal challenges that he himself encountered as an Engineer, and the transformation that he experienced after discovering the practice of Mindfulness. “I went from having difficult relationships with Managers to being more courageous and open with them. And they started to be more open with me. The whole dynamics shifted. The energy shifted.” |
