SHOW NOTES
We’re taking an Insider’s Look into Leadercast, the World’s Premier Leadership Event. “The more you give away, the more you get” Duane Cummings is the CEO (“Constantly Elevating Others”) of Leadercast where they aim to “Fill The World With Leaders Worth Following” by serving groups and organizations, hosting events like Leadercast Live, the largest one day leadership event in the world. Duane describes his role as humbling to be surrounded by amazing talent and focus on making the world a better place by serving others. His personal aim is to “die empty” by fully giving away his gifts and talents to benefit others. “I’m humbled to serve the Leadercast Team. The importance of teamwork and leadership skills were drilled into me early in life, and then honed while serving in the U.S. Army. Fortunately, the results later provided championships as a professional soccer player and coach. After retiring from athletics, I transitioned to the business world and held several executive and management positions, before stepping out to build my own start up wholesale clothing company. “People refer to me as an Entrepreneur, Solutions Strategist, Public Speaker, Personal/Professional Coach, Author, Mentor, Philanthropist. Use whatever label you wish. I'm here to SERVE.”

We’re changing Human Resources to Resources for Humans with Reflektive’s incredible CEO Rajeev Behera.
“The power dynamics have shifted and employers how have to focus on engaging and motivating their employees” Organizations have changed over the last twenty years. People no longer expect to stay in one job for their career. These days it is common for people to change companies every few years. Organizations everywhere need to rethink their approach to engaging and retaining talented people. “It’s an economic imperative for companies to focus on their people. HR really needs to create a great employee experience” What makes Millennials tick? This week we get valuable insights from Psychologist Meghan Reid.
“Millennials really want to find purpose or meaning in their work, even right away and in entry level roles.” Based in Toronto, Meghan is a Career and Workplace Psychologist for both individuals and organizations. She focuses on career and personal counselling. She has worked with hundreds of clients to help them make strategic and informed career-related decisions, often pertaining to their ideal career fit. “Millennials are not lazy, but they may not see their role in the big picture.” Non-Profit Leadership is a calling, an opportunity to serve with passion for what matters most. This week on Inspiring Leaders, we learn about authentic leadership from the CEO of the Ottawa Mission, Peter Tilley.
“If you are a CEO or COO and every morning is an exercise in drudgery, get out, take that leap of faith and have courage” Peter Tilley has served in remarkable roles for decades, including a management role at Quantum Management Services in the 1990s. But in 1994, joined the Ottawa Food Bank as a driver and worked his way up to become their Executive Director, overseeing all aspects of this non-profit that shipped out 8 million pounds of food with a budget of $4M per year, responsible for 25 staff and countless volunteers. “Passion is a defining feature of any great leader” |
